Congratulations to our amazing School-Based Technology Specialist Laura King who was recognized as the FCPS 2021 Region 1 Outstanding School-Based Professional Employee and one of the six finalists for the FCPS Outstanding School-Based Operational Employee at this year's FCPS Honors event, held at Jiffy Lube Live on June 9th.

Laura has an automatic, adamant commitment to student and teacher success. The words “no” and “it can’t be done” simply do not exist in her vocabulary. Her door is always open, and she greets everyone with a delightful smile, a kind heart, and endless patience. Laura takes the time to make genuine connections with every student, colleague, family and community member she encounters. She lifts everyone up, celebrates every individual, and works to ensure that they have what they need to thrive. Her mentorship has brightened not only the Hunters Woods Community, but FCPS as a whole. She is a “marigold” and someone that students, families, and staff know they can count on.
